Q I contacted Communications and Advertising (C&A) to place an advertisement in regional and suburban papers - now I have an invoice from AdCorp- Who should I pay - AdCorp or C&A?
A AdCorp arranges non-campaign bookings and send invoices for suburban, regional, Community Language and Interstate press. You should pay AdCorp.
Advertising in the Sydney Morning Herald, Sun Herald, The Financial Review, Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and The Australian can only be arranged by C&A. In these cases, payment should be made to C&A.
Q Why is the deadline for finalising my advertisement for the Saturday Recruitment Composite advertisement so early?
A The 'Employment' section of the Saturday newspaper is actually printed on Thursday - hence the earlier deadlines.
Q I have spoken to my local newspaper and they have offered me a great deal to take some advertising - do I still need to book through the GA system?
A Yes. Sometimes media will offer special "opportunity buy deals" at rates that are under the negotiated government rates. If this happens, advise C&A (or Mediacom for campaign advertising) of the quoted rate and the name of the person quoting it. Your advertisement will then be booked at the special rate you have been quoted.
